"Pssshh" sound from Eheim Ecco filter normal?

Ive just set up my new Eheim Ecco Pro 2036 external filter and appears to running ok - waters going in and coming out, its almost silent but it makes a sort of "ppssshh" sound every 10 minutes or so. Is there air trapped inside I need to release or have I not primed it properly? Or is it putting oxygen into outflow?

  • Rohn says:

If it is full primed you should hear anything sound except from the motor (depending on the type of the filter).

The trap air bubble is creating this "ppssshh" sound.
