Video – My First 10 Gallon Marine Tank
Watch my first ever marine tank. It's set up a week ago and I will start to add hermit crabs and turbo snails in a few days. For some strange reason the PH dropped from 8.3 to 7.0 since I added live rock 5 days ago. I use a Fluval U2 Filter (aqua one ava40)
Any ideas as why the PH went from alkaline to neutral would be highly appreciated.

Question:
I recently bought a 50 gallon tank, and wondering to either set-up a wet/dry filter or install an external canister filter. I'm aware that wet/dry is mainly used for marine aquariums, but also that they often provide better filtration. I want to keep some fancy tosakin goldfish in my aquarium.
Perhaps a canister is still the best option, but if wet/dry filter do a better job and by the looks of it are easily to make yourself it's tempting to go for a a good DIY option.
Do you guys think I should shell $200+ for a canister or build a wet/dry myself. And is the DIY an option anyway?
Thanks a million..
Answer:
I think you can go for the sump set up. It’s a much cheaper solution and the filtration is okay. A really low cost solution is to make the sump from a Tupperware container or an old unused aquarium.
You need to get a good pump and overflow box, that’s the more expensive part. But they are very simple to set up and can be done at a fraction of the cost of a canister

Plenty of people have asked me about my tank, cabinet, and filter combination (does it all fit comfortably, what's the flow like, etc). Here's the video to hopefully clear those questions up. I intend on adding a duplicate filter/heater set up on the other side of the tank shortly. Tank is still cycling hence no livestock yet.

I recently got a 60 gallon aquarium from a friend and it has a internal wet/dry filter. I put a link below to the tank that I have. I am sick of the noise and the not so great filtration. I very much prefer canister or power filters. They are much better and less noisy them wet/dry filters. So my question is, can I get my dremel out and cut out the wet/dry from the aquarium? Once I cut it out will the tank be ok as far as strength?

Is a Rena xp3 Filter Sufficient for a 50 Gallon Aquarium?
I think about buying a for my 50 gallon aquarium that houses a Turtle. The tank gets extremely messy so I wonder if my solution would be sufficient?
